Sapadere Canyon in Alanya

Sapadere Canyon is a natural beauty close to Sappadere Village, in Turkish Riviera, 45 km east of Alanya. The area of Sapadere offers breathtaking nature with all shades of green. Everyone who visits this untouched place will enjoy the green scenery, numerous waterfalls, cold water, fresh air, fauna and flora alongside with the picturesque Taurus Mountains.

This gorge is approximately 360 m long and 400 m high, formed by water, ice and wind erosion. The layers were formed over thousands of years. Until 2008, this place was known by locals, after its opening it has been attracting tourists from all over the world as well.

Easy access for visitors is guaranteed by wooden paths thoughout the park. The most remarkable waterfall is situated at the end of one of those paths. The ladder leads the visitors to the perfect place for dipping into the clear turquoise water, which has no more than 10 °C. With its platform, made from wood and stell, it is also a popular spot among tourists for taking photos.

Sapadere Canyon Tour

There are many different ways how to get to Sapadere Canyon. You can take an individual trip or join one of the tours that are organized by many different agencies. There are no opening-hours, so you may come whenever you choose. You can choose from bus tours or Sapadere Canyon jeep tours.

If you will decide to go on organized tour, you will be picked up from your hotel. The trip usually starts around 9 am and guided is in English or German language. The price is approximately 20-25 Euro per person and the fee includes the entrance to canyon and lunch. Do not forget to bring enough water, as the drinks are not included in the price.

On the way to Sapadere Canyon, you will pass banana plantations and citrus groves in the area.

Sapadere Canyon offers 12 waterfalls and you can walk in between beautiful green scenery with many species of animals, birds, butterflies and plants.

After walking in Sapadere Canyon, the tour continues with delicious lunch in local restaurant. You will have the possibility to visit also Sapadere Village, mosque, a silk producing atelier in the village, an old watermill and fruit gardens. As an addition to those places, you may also go to the Dwarf cave, full of colourful stalactites and stalagmites, at the beginning of this tour.

Wonderful day in the nature will finish around 4 pm when jeeps or buses will bring you back to your hotel or apartment.
