Iskele is one of the largest towns in Northern Cyprus and is quickly becoming known as an up-and-coming area. It is located approximately 20 km north of Famagusta. It has wonderful golden beaches and delightful fish restaurants, all in close proximity. One of the most visited beaches in Cyprus is undoubtedly Long Beach. Here kilometre after kilometre of soft sand stretches along the coastline with sun beds and beach bars providing comfort as well as food and refreshments to visitors.

It was formerly called Trikomo, and according to legend, it is where the Goddess Aphrodite brought the first fresh fruit.
