The Villages Of Alanya

When the people of Alanya want to escape the heat in the summertime, they go visit the villages. Having picnics on the slopes of the Taurus mountains, wandering around in the beautiful scenery and spending an unforgettable time with loved ones are the best things to do.

FOUR BEAUTIFUL VILLAGES OF ALANYA

THE VILLAGE OF DEREKOY-TURBELİNAS

The village of Derekoy is located about 30- 35 km North from Alanya. It's a summer village which can be reached by a road that zigzags through the pine trees of the Taurus mountains. In the times of Karamanogullar, it was known as the Hurshitler district and belonged to Mahmutseydi village area. The village consists of settlements spread around the slopes of the Taurus mountains that surround the village. In the middle of the village is the spring of Kargi river and it's called Deregozu, where fish like trouts live. The village is very famous for its grapes, pears, molasses and dried fruit pulps. In the summer the population increases due to the people wanting to escape from the heat.

THE VILLAGE OF GEDEVET

The village where the folks of Alanya go for some fresh air is called Gedevet and it is located inside the borders of Pınarbashi village. It is known to have about 1500 households. In this village, a lot of vegetables and fruits that are grown, such as apples, pears, cranberries, chestnuts, cherries, grapes, and figs. It's about 23 km away from Alanya center and it is possible to see every shade of green as you are admiring the view.

THE VILLAGE OF TÜRKTAŞ

The village is located in the middle of the Taurus mountains and it has spectacular views of the mountains. The most popular things to do is just wandering among the tall trees and having picnics with barbeque.

THE VILLAGE OF MAHMUTSEYDİ

This breathtaking village is located about 40 km away from Alanya center. It's one of the largest villages in Alanya and of course, the most popular one amongst the others. One of the known people of Alanya, Hamdullah Emin Pasha, is from Mahmutseydi village. In the summertime, a lot of the people living in the center of Alanya visit the village to escape the heat of the sun and enjoy the cool mountain breeze.
